Before purchasing our new car, I had a list of must have, and nice to have. At first viewing and test driving of this vehicle had to force myself to at least at other options. I came back immediately. My first must have was excellent leg room, front and back. This car has more that ample leg room. Next was room for coffee and beverages, wow two between seats, more space in both front doors for water. Back the same pull down beverage holders, water in door. Very large storage in back, and very easy to enlarge with fold down seats. No knocks, or what was that noise. Great mileage, car is easy to handle and has speed pick up on the road. Cruise and radio controls are within easy reach, and comes equipped with blue tooth and on star. Safety and entertainment!!! We have put 120, 000 miles o... (more)
Story
We live in a rural community and purchased our car off the showroom floor. A few days later we got calls from the dealer asking if we could bring our car in so others could see and test drive. They had a lot of requests for the car, and none to show yet.
Pros
Size, engine power, gas mileage, storage and leg room. Like the look of the dash and the storage between seats. Ample beverage spots and easy access to blue tooth, radio, and cruise control. The back seats fold down without effort.
Cons
The front panel that encloses the windshield is a little wide. Makes it difficult to watch for oncoming traffic when pulling out of side streets and roads. I wish that area had better vision.

2009 Chevrolet Equinox - Happy but could be happier.

The Chevy Equinox I purchased was a used 2009. I got the SUB thinking it would be big enough for my family and not being a minivan. It holds all 5 of us easily and my kids aren't crammed into the back. Shortly after buying the car the u-joint broke in the drive train. Luckily it still had the warranty from the original purchase so that didn't cost me anything. Other than that issue the car has held up to everyday driving. Also the trunk is huge, especially when you put. The backseat down. I've been able to haul large appliances in the trunk. Gas mileage is ok but could be better. I average 20 miles to a gallon which is just shy of 350 miles or tank. Overall it's a good care but could be better.
Story
Went camping in the woods in northeast Ohio and taking the wad suv off the road and into the hills was a sheer surprise. It handled like it was on rails the entire time off-road and the suspension never failed, had a smooth ride the whole way.
Pros
The vehicle was large enough to fit my family of 5 easily. Also when you put the back seat down its like having a pickup truck. I can haul even large appliances in the trunk of this car. It comes in handy when moving.
Cons
A Lot of repairs went into the car in the short time I've owned it. Although it was used some of the repairs seemed to be manufacturing short falls.

The build of this vehicle is solid. There are no rattles, shakes or shimmies. When doors are closed there is a solid feel. The backup camera is very clear for safety purposes. The warranty is very good and covers bumper to bumper. The alignment and balance are stable. The standard tinted windows are great for reducing heat in the summer. The rear window wiper is useful in muddy / rainy conditions and ensures added safety. The electronic drivers seat movement is variable with not only forward and backward, but tilt, lift and lumbar support. The sunroof is a fun addition for cooler days and nights. The roof rack at the top is useful for additional storage using cargo straps. The multiple airbags ensure increased safety. The adjustable front and rear headrests add comfort. The rear center... Going to a beach in Mississippi with my boyfriend son in law and 6 dogs for a beach camping weekend trip. We had dog beds, kennels, ice chests, sleeping gear, blowup bed, and clothes. We were stuffed but comfortable!
Pros
Maneuverability Multiple ways to increase storage Air bag safety features Up to the minute vehicle stats Tinted windows Backup camera Solidly built Sunroof Rear window wiper Navigational direction
Cons
Gas tank has no locking system To open the rear hatch, the doors must all be unlocked. Not very safe.
