1992 Ford F-150 - real work horse
I was planning on doing some home improvements and needed a utility truck for hauling and happened to see a 1992 Ford F150 for sale. The price was right so I bought it and was in for a very pleasant surprise. The interior is very functional and the seat is as more comfortable than one would expect in a work truck. The 5.7 liter engine has enough power and torque to pull anything I will ever need to. 4x4 requires locking the hubs, but has controls on dash. Standard cruise control with overdrive is a welcome addition. Very quiet ride with little to no road noise. The dash is well set up and all the instruments are easy to read. Story
The 4 wheel drive is outstanding. During the last rain storms I was able to pull several vehicles out of mud and water with not problem at all.
Pros
Truck is very well engineered for comfort and safety. Lots of power and good braking system.
Cons
MPG is below average for comparable trucks, but it does have the largest engine and most power. The truck bed has a liner that does not allow 4x8 plywood or drywall to lay flat on the bottom, the must be blocked up about 6 inches to fit flat.
2008 Ford F-150 - Old Ford F150
We needed a truck that would be reliable, fit our financing budget, and be practical as a work vehicle, so we chose this Ford 150 because it looked great inside and out for being ten years old, and it had low mileage as well.
Story
When we went into town to pick up our very first new furniture set. It was hard to fit all the boxes into the back of the truck, but we did!
Pros
The only thing I really like about it is that it can haul things like new furniture or trash when we need it to
Cons
I think it is not practical for everyday use because the gas costs so much.
