The Mini Cooper coupe is a fantastic vehicle for a small car. It looks brilliant, with its contrasting stripes and beautiful finish on the body color. The bucket seats are very comfortable and the controls are just a finger tip away. The precision of the steering system makes this car very maneuverable. The power is enough to get up on the freeway and move with the big rigs. The air conditioning system is first class. The storage area in the back is perfect for two people's groceries. The fuel economy is the best I have ever had in a car. I have driven over 20,000 miles in this car and feel confident that BMW, who owns the label, has put solid engineering in the automobile. It is very stable, even at high speeds. The car has an automatic shift and it moves through the gears very easily... (more)
Story
Our car is a star at the swimming pool parking lot because it is sky blue and silver, and the design of the hood makes it seem like it is smiling.
Pros
It is so easy to find a parking space. I can around most of the overbuilt shopping center parking lots easily. The car has a beautiful paint job and is easy to keep clean. The fuel economy is excellent at about 30 miles per gallon or more every day.
Cons
The vertical height of the car is lower and sometimes larger vehicles cannot seen this little car. I make sure to keep my lights on and honk if I notice that I am overlooked in the car. The tires, once flat, Mini will not repair, just replace.

Driving: It is a sports car, and it handles a little rough for my liking. When I first started driving it, I remember how loud it seemed inside the car. However, I am used to that now. I sit very low to the ground, so I think that has to do with feeling every little bump in the road. The car is not the S version so that means better gas mileage, but I find that the car is a little sluggish. The interior is very cute and more roomy than one might expect. I fit 20 bags of mulch (2 cubic feet each) in the car. I love the circular features that make it look retro. The outside is the reason I bought the car. The Mini is so cute on the outside, like a little baby, and it is the only car that made me understand car love. The gas mileage, as previously stated, is pretty great, but could be ... (more)

People stop me to tell me how cute they think my car is.
Pros
It is so cute and I smile when I look at it...Even now. I love how the car suits me perfectly. I love how there is a little cult following for the car, even though I don't do that sort of thing. I do love how I fit everywhere in my teeny cute little car. I really do love it, but she is a princess. Princesses are expensive.
Cons
It was expensive, but I had to have it. I don't like how I void my warranty unless I go to the dealer. Oil changes are very expensive, but I bought a pack of them when I first bought the car.

I really love my vehicle. The first time that I rode in one, I knew that this was the type of car that I wanted to own. They're fun to drive and ride in! When I got my first job out of college, I bought my own MINI as soon as I could. I fully customized my MINI and I waited 3 long months for it to be shipped to me from England, so it is very special to me. Since BMW bought the company, I was assured that the quality would be great. It also runs really well. It has kick. It is probably my favorite car to drive. Even though it is tiny, it packs a punch.
Story
I once got my MINI stuck in the sand at the beach. I had to get my friend (with a JEEP) to pull me out. It was so embarrassing, but also hilarious. I know that I will never forget it.
Pros
The best thing about my MINI is that it is made very well. The safety features are very good and that makes me feel safe and confident. Even though it is small, I feel safe, even around bigger trucks. The quality can even be felt in the doors. They're so hefty, you know that they're not made out of plastic. The other the thing that I love about the MINI is that it's so fun to drive. It's a good commute vehicle and also a leisure vehicle. The gas mileage is really great compared to a lot of cars, so I am more prone to using this versus our other vehicle which gets substantially less mileage... (more)
Cons
The worst thing about the MINI is that the maintenance is so expensive. I don't know if that has anything to do with the company being owned by BMW, but even getting a oil change is pricey. And since everything is logged in a computer, it's more difficult to reset it when you get an oil change without looking it up or going to the dealership. The other bad thing about it is that it's a cute and small car, my husband is a little reluctant to drive it. Since it's so small, my husband has to push the seat back all the way to make room for his long legs. Also, I think he might feel a little se... (more)
